INTEGRATION is an important term for migrants who have arrived in Germany and come to the Berlin Mennonite Church. Intergration involves learning the language, taking training classes, finding employment, meeting new people, making new friends. The congregation provides both moral and pratical support. All of the congregation members who assist with this work as staff or volunteers follow the motto: sharing the worries, taking time to talk, providing direct, practical aid.

A Multicultural Congregation

Since the 1990s many Germans from Russia have joined our congregation. They have participated in our ongoing work and also found the freedom to do their own thing. Even today one will might still notice these differences but they do not disturb our time together. The Berlin Mennonite Church unites many different cultures, our members come from east and west, from Berlin and other areas of Germany, from the former Soviet Union and from South America.

Café Tandem

In November 2015 together with the Protestant Paulus congregation we developed the Café Tandem, a coffee house setting for long-term residents and newcomers. We want to meet the many new people coming to Berlin who move to our part of the city. We offer openness, friendliness and practical help if needed. Meeting dates are available in our congregational newsletter under Downloads.
