MUSIC opens up the heart and moves the soul. It stirs us from within, and can, at the same time, transport us beyond ourselves, which makes music unique and meaningful. Music is a language, a language that helps us express our life and faith. Wherever music is present, it elevates us into a new dimension. A worship service accompanied with music is an event that speaks to our senses.

The Mennonite Hymnal

Melodies and notes awaken something within us. Some songs even remain significant to us over a lifetime. German-speaking Mennonites compiled songs from numerous Christian traditions, selecting songs which hold a deep meaning to us. Some of the them have been sung in praise of God for centuries. Today, when we sing these songs, we are able to connect to our spiritual forebearers, whose faith is alive in these lyrics and refrains. At the same time, every generation praises God with their own hymns. In our hymnal, we have new songs, which inspire us to a new life with God.
